We built AirlockChat because
trust online shouldn't be rare.
AirlockChat started with a simple frustration: why is it so hard to know if the person you're talking to online is real?
We kept seeing the same pattern. A promising new connection online who turned out to be catfishing. A “professional” contact with a fabricated profile. A social media conversation with someone hiding behind a fake name.
Hundreds of millions of people form new connections online every day: on social media, community forums, messaging platforms, and professional networks. On nearly every one of these platforms, there is zero guarantee that the person on the other end is who they say they are.
We built AirlockChat to change this.
Not by adding verification as an optional badge that 5% of users bother with. But by making it compulsory. Every user. Government ID. Facial comparison against their profile photo. No exceptions.
And once you've established that everyone is real, you can build something powerful on top of it: a communication system where consent isn't an afterthought. Where bad behavior has visible consequences. Where trust is the default, not the exception.

No user accesses the platform without completing government identity verification. This is non-negotiable. Every person on AirlockChat has proven they are who they say they are.

Report, block, and citation systems give users control and transparency. Moderation outcomes are visible, not invisible. Bad behavior has real consequences.

Confirmed reports show on profiles. Admin actions are logged. Data handling is documented. We don't hide behind vague policies.
Built on government-grade identity.
Verification runs on DigiLocker, the government's own digital identity infrastructure, because it's the most legitimate verification system available to us. The same system trusted by banks, airlines, and insurers.
Our data handling complies with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA): we collect only what's necessary, mask what we store, and delete it when you leave. And our design holds to the highest global standards, because trust should feel world-class.
