We built AirlockChat because
trust online shouldn't be rare.
AirlockChat started with a simple frustration: why is it so hard to know if the person you're talking to online is real?
We kept seeing the same pattern. A promising new connection online who turned out to be catfishing. A “professional” contact with a fabricated profile. A social media conversation with someone hiding behind a fake name.
India has over 800 million internet users. Hundreds of millions of them form new connections online every day — on social media, community forums, messaging platforms, and professional networks. On nearly every one of these platforms, there is zero guarantee that the person on the other end is who they say they are.
We built AirlockChat to change this.
Not by adding verification as an optional badge that 5% of users bother with. But by making it compulsory. Every user. Government ID. Facial comparison against their profile photo. No exceptions.
And once you've established that everyone is real, you can build something powerful on top of it: a communication system where consent isn't an afterthought. Where bad behavior has visible consequences. Where trust is the default, not the exception.

AirlockChat is built in India, designed for Indian users. We use DigiLocker — the government's own digital identity infrastructure — because it's the most legitimate verification system available to us.
Our servers are deployed in Mumbai for the lowest possible latency. Our data handling complies with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA). And our design reflects the highest global standards — because Indian products deserve to be world-class.
